There are reports that the Oworonshoki area of Lagos
state has today, October 11, experienced a bomb scare at
a locked pub.
According to The Punch, the South West coordinator of the National
Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Ibrahim Farinloye,
confirmed that there was an explosion inside a locked beer parlour
that is yet to open today.
He said that there were four casualties including a girl injured and
had been rushed to Afolabi Hospital for treatment.
Farinloye said: “Fire service and police are trying to find out the
cause of the explosion as the shop was locked at the time of
explosion.
The coordinator noted that the crowd is greatly impeding emergency
works being carried out by his men.
He said: “We call on the crowd to leave the area entirely. The
explosion partly affected a building next to the beer parlour.”
However, according to Television Continental News, it was a gas
explosion.
OWORO EXPLOSION: GM of LASEMA confirms the incidence;
says it was not a Bomb explosion, his men on top of the situation,
appeals for calm!
